Wii Pictionary is the Wii version of the famous charades-like board game Pictionary. The same as Wii Monopoly now you can play this well-known game on your big flat panel TV. This is a rather obvious choice for a game that the Wii uDraw tablet should support.

The classic Pictionary is a charade-style board game where one player from a team is asked to draw something against a time limit, while the other members of his team try to guess what it is.

It is a simple concept and you can play it if you have a few funny ideas, some pencils and some pieces of paper. Therefore the digital version, the Pictionary Wii, had to try hard to overcome the basic fact that you can make a Pictionary game rather cheap.

With the Wii Pictionary digital version you will never run out of paper or pencils. It also offers two game modes. There is a standard Pictionary mode with the basic rules of the game that we all learned playing the classic board game.

The other mode is the Pictionary Mania that sets specific rules on how to draw in each round. For example, for one round you might be able to only use the shapes tool. It is a nice twist to the original Pictionary idea and it forces the player to use the more esoteric tools.

This option, however, does come with a few problems along the way. For example, forcing players to use specific tools might make some clues almost impossible to decipher in the game.

Then again it highlights the fact that in regular Wii Pictionary mode you are likely to only use the basic pencil tool for most of your tasks. This game should be played with the drawing tablet, the Wii uDraw, which is sold separately.

The additional tools are of course nice to have and the game offers a free draw mode if that is all that you wanna do in the game. But if you get carried away in the hectic play of the game, you will always find yourself drawing simple sketches just because that is a lot more effective when playing against the clock.

There is a lot of fun to be had with Pictionary, more fun than with the other current available uDraw games. The tools they offer are more extensive than most homes and familes will choose to use. Wii Pictionary stands out as a worthy digital game title.
